ABOUT MRGC

Established in 1919 by a small group of local sportsmen, They were a mixed group of both working and professional men whom desired a more formal method of pursuing sporting activities. 

The Mystic Rod and Gun Club has two main properties that provide hunting, fishing, archery and target shooting for members and guests. 

The main clubhouse (pictured above) is located at 44 Gun Club Rd, off Rt 201, in Stonington. Our large main clubhouse hosts the monthly steak dinners & membership meetings and has a an indoor 50' pistol & archery range and an outdoor 50' archery range. A covered BBQ pit , grills and picnic area complement the Stonington  clubhouse property.   

Our second property is in Griswold, CT, near the Pachaug State Forest. A recently renovated (2019-2020) clubhouse with full facilities, is available to all members participating in any of the outdoor activities hosted here. This property has a 21 acre stocked fishing pond with a small dock and couple canoes for member use, a lighted skeet and trap field, a 50 yard archery range, a  5 covered port 100-yard rifle range with intermediate target berms at  25 & 50 yards, a separate 50' pistol pit with static and falling steel. The Griswold property is also the private hunting grounds for members.

Monthly membership meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month and are preceded by a steak dinner. Tickets are $20 at the door and proceeds fund the MRGC scholarships.
